The Various Ways to Twitter Party

There are several ways that one may attend a Twitter Party depending on what you are the most comfortable with.

1. TweetDeck

TweetDeck is my favorite way to Twitter party and in my opinion, the easiest. All you have to do is download the TweetDeck program to your computer, create a free account and sign in, then add columns based off of the party you are attending! I recommend adding one column for the host (or one per host), one for the sponsor (or one per sponsor) and having your first one be the hash tag!

2. Twitter

Yep, you can use good ol fashioned Twitter to attend Twitter Parties!

Simply log into your account, find your search bar, and search for the party's hashtag (ex: #EyeSpyBaby). The only draw back with Twitter is that it is not in real time, it will take a few to several seconds to update, and you will only be viewing the hashtag, not the party hosts so you'll need to pay attention! Make sure you include the Hashtag on all of your Tweets!

2. HootSuite

HootSuite is a popular program that bloggers and non-bloggers alike use. To use HootSuite to attend a twitter party simply create a FREE account,  connect your Twitter account, and add "streams" to your dashboard. It is recommend to add a stream for the party's hashtag as well as all of the hosts. HootSuite should automatically include your mentions which will allow you to see if someone is tweeting at you. The only draw back with HootSuite is that it is not in real time, it will take a few to several seconds to update. Make sure you include the Hashtag on all of your Tweets!
