NurturMe Review & Giveaway

When it comes to your little ones, nutrition is everything. Every parent strives to make sure their little one is getting the most out of their baby food between taste, texture, vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs, and everything else that is necessary for their health and development. The busy mom on the go often leans on pre-made baby food as a means of feeding their littles ones- heck, even us stay at home momma's lean on pre-made baby food! I know I do! Baby A is so picky and unless I make the perfect combination of fruits and veggies, Baby A wants nothing to do with my baby food! Thanks to NurturMe moms everywhere can feel great about what their little ones are eating and whip up their meals in seconds!

*I received several packets of NurturMe for review in exchange of my honest thoughts and opinions.

NurturMe launched in 2010, first hitting the shelves of Central Market and Whole Foods throughout Texas. The idea of NurturMe was created over a lunch date of nachos between friends Caroline Freedman and Lauren McCullough (that's them in the photo below!), when the two ladies fed off of each others ideas and skills set and got the ball rolling! NurturMe is the first and only certified organic, dried fruit and vegetable meals and snacks for children between four months and four years. NurturMe products are gluten free, non-GMO, kosher, and have no added preservatives, sugars, or salt.

NurturMe generously sent us a handful of NurturMeal Singles and Blends in a variety of their flavors including their Protein-Packed Quinoa, Crunchy Carrots, Bananas and Green Kale, and many others. When our NurturMe products arrived the first thing I noticed was how convenient the packages were and my first thought was that they would be perfect for when we traveled back home! As I mentioned above, NurturMe are dry meals that have been quick dried to preserve freshness, flavor, and nutrients, so these meals are extremely versatile and can be used wherever, whenever!

To make your NurturMeals you simply pour them into your child's bowl and mix them with water, formula, or breast milk to the desired consistency for your little one to enjoy as a puree, or you could even add it to your toddlers foods such as mac & cheese, yogurts, or baked goods for an extra boost of vitamins and minerals. To be honest, I haven't been measuring the amounts of water that I have been using, instead I have been doing a sort of trial and error to reach the desired consistency of our NurturMeals, and when I was making Baby A the Crisp Apple's NurturMeal I added to much water to it! For a few seconds I was bummed out, not wanting to waste it, but not sure what to do since it was entirely to watery, then I remembered that we had a packet of Protein-Packed Quinoa that could be added! Once I added the Quinoa I had to add a little more water, mix it up, and I was good to go! Baby A loved the apple/quinoa mix that I created and ate it up with no fuss. Below is a photo of the Banana & Green Kale NurturMeal that I made for Baby A to try out for the first time. Continue reading to find out what he thought about it!

I've mentioned time and time again that Baby A is an extremely picky eater and loves to deny the food I put in front of him, which as you can imagine is extremely frustrating for me. To add to it, he is now at the stage in his toddler-hood where he is gaining more independence and only wants to feed himself. Forget having me feed him yogurts, puree's, or anything of that nature, if he isn't doing it himself, he won't eat it. The first NurturMeal I tried with him (the one shown above and below in photos) was the Banana and Green Kale and I was shocked at the positive response that I got with Baby A from that flavor combination. He absolutely loved it and cleaned his bowl. Needless to say, I was doing the happy dance with each spoonful that he shoveled in.

NurturMe also makes tasty dry fruit and veggie snacks called Yum-a-Roo's which are perfect for making sure your little one is getting a nutritious snack between meals. The Yum-a-Roo's fruits and veggies easily dissolve in your childs mouth and there is an average of 1.5 servings of fruits and veggies in every resealable pouch!! We received the Caribbean Crop which was a tasty blend of Pea's, Banana, and Pineapple. This bag of Yum-a-Roo's didn't last long in our house, not only did Baby A love his new snacks, but even mom liked them too!

Baby A and I have found a new baby food brand that we love, and I will continue to purchase NurturMe for him whenever we have the opportunity to make it to Target or Babies R Us! I'd like to say that we will purchase it all the time but living in a small town limits our choices, so instead I am going to tell you that NurturMeals and Yum-a-Roo's will be purchased in bulk when I am able to go snag some! Perfect for at home or on the go, every baby will love them while parents will love their benefits!
