Several years ago when the Lord grabbed a hold of my life my views on so many things changed. One of those things was the way I dressed. So over the past few years I have fought the battle of finding clothes that look great, but yet keep the things I want covered, covered. :)
It seems that anymore shirts are cut so low you have to constantly wear a tank under them if you don't want anything falling out. Pants are also cut so low that most of the time, that same tank top will not keep your back and possibly a little more from showing when you bend over. The more conscious I get about what I wear the more frustrated I become. Just the other day my hubs sent me out for a few hours of "me time" , he said , "go do some shopping, buy yourself some clothes or something". Well, it was awfully sweet of him..but I came home and said "well, I didn't buy anything for me, but I got a few things for the kids". That's how it typically goes anymore...not that I didn't look for me , I just got frustrated real quick!
One day a few months ago when I was browsing Facebook I stumbled upon a fabulous page, I quickly fell in love with the little store that it belonged to. The store is called Sexy Modest Boutique. The name is what drew me in,and then I fell in love with their styles immediately! I am a mother of 3, but I am also a wife and I desire to look nice for my husband...after 3 kids I feel anything but sexy most of the time..but when I have a great outfit on I feel confident , and confidence can be beautiful! I am not the girl who feels confident with a lot of skin showing.
Sexy Modest Boutique has everything you need, from bottoms to tops and everything in between! I was able to choose two pieces from their Basics section, I went with the Blake Ruffle Cardigan in mint (which sadly is not on their site at this moment) and the Stretchy Long Tank in white. I was so anxious to receive my items, as always with shopping on line I second guess my choice of going with a medium over a small & vice versa. My items arrived rather quickly, I spoke with them on the phone on a Wednesday and by Monday my items were here!
I can not even begin to express how pleased I am with these items!! First, a medium in the cardigan was definitely the way to go! I am 5'7 and weigh about 130lbs and it fit perfectly!!! The long tank comes in a "one size fits all" and it is so comfy!!
So let's talk about this tank first, I honestly think this is a must have for every woman's closet! I will definitely be adding a few more to my wardrobe since they come in a variety of colors. The tank solves two problems that I have when it comes to clothing. 1- the neckline is high enough that what I do have isn't falling out when I bend over, and 2- it is long enough to avoid showing too much in the back when you bend over!! The length comes well past my waist which I am very pleased with! I love that I can pull it straight down for a longer length or gather it a little around the tummy area for some "forgiveness" ya know I need that after 3 kids and it is still plenty long enough.
I love the Blake cardigan just as much! The material is so soft, it really feels incredible on and the look is fabulous!! The first day I wore it I got so many compliments, everything from the color to the fun/flirty ruffles on the front and the little detail of buttons on the sleeve make this cardigan something to drool over.
I am so incredibly pleased with both of these items and look forward to adding many more items from Sexy Modest Boutique to my wardrobe. ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! That color looks good on you. I really like the blue. You can wear that with brown pants or a cute pair of shorts cut just above the knee.
ReplyDeleteGreen would also go well with that shade of blue- certain shades of green, that is. I think sometimes clothing manufacturers just aren't making the clothes to the same standards. Just recently I heard a man complaining. I'm glad you found clothes you liked!
