Snack and Dessert Granola

Ever have those days where you are craving something sweet but you want so badly to be good and eat healthy. Well, I've got a surprise for you. These are two granola recipes that I made up when I was back in high school! I love it then, I love it now and I'm sure you will love it too!

Chocolate Granola (yum right?)

What You Will Need:

1/2 a Box of Granola (I usually grab off brand granola to save money, but you can grab whatever you see fit.)
1 Cup of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (or less if you're trying to be healthy)
1/4 Cup of Walnut Pieces

What You Need To Do:

Preheat your oven to 350. Lay tin foil out on your baking sheet and dump about 1/2 your box of Granola on the foil. Spread the granola so it's an even layer. Next sprinkle your walnut pieces over the granola. Add your chocolate chips trying to evenly distribute them over the walnuts and granola. Bake for approximately 5-10 minutes or until the chocolate chips have melted (be careful not to burn them!!). Take the granola out of the oven and let it cool for about two minutes. Once it's cooled slightly, pour the granola mixture into a large ziplock bag and shake until the chocolate has completely covered the granola and walnuts. Pour the granola into a Tupperware and allow it to cool. Eat when you're ready for it!!!

Healthy Granola

What You Will Need:

1/2 a Box of Granola
A Large Handful of Dried Cranberries
A Large Handful of Pecan Pieces
A Large Handful of Walnut Pieces
Approx 3 Tablespoons of Local Honey
(Please note that I just eyeball with this granola mixture depending on what I want more of in it)

What You Need To Do:

Preheat the oven to 350. Lay tin foil on your baking sheet and dump about 1/2 of your box of granola on the foil. Smooth the granola so it is a nice even layer. Sprinkle your dried cranberries, pecan pieces and walnut pieces dothat they are evenly distributed. Drizzle the honey over the mixture in even lines. Bake for 5-10 minutes depending on your oven. Once baked, transfer the foil to a cooling rack for about 5 minutes. Once it's cooled slightly, pour into a Tupperware and mix the mixture together. Eat when you're ready!!

These two granolas never last more than a day and a half in my house, they're just to tasty!!

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for this recipe. I have been wanting to try some homemade granola. Store bought granola has so much junk in it. I think I will try this recipe and maybe a few variations. I would if I could make it smores? Mmmm
