Masha Review & Giveaway

Moms are often in the kitchen preparing meals and baby food. One thing I absolutely hate to do is mash potatoes, it's a pain to do and my potato's always seem to be a little lumpy! Thankfully, there is an awesome new product on the market that is revolutionizing the way that we mash our food! I''m excited to introduce you to the Masha!

The Masha is a product that I had never heard of before, but when I discovered it I was instantly intrigued. One thing I hate to do is mash things up and if there was an appliance that would make that job just a little bit easier, it was worth owning! The Masha is perfect for potatoes, vegetables, baby food, guacamole, cake mixes, pastries, and many other things! 

When the Masha arrived I was impressed on how compact it was, yet it was still large enough where you wouldn't get your hand dirty if something was to splash up at you. The Masha requires an electrical outlet to work (rather than batteries) which is not a problem for me since I seem to have a million outlets in my kitchen, and honestly, who wants to buy extra batteries for an appliance? Not me, and probably not you either! 

So now that you've seen the Masha and can see how awesome it looks, you may be scratching your head wondering how the Masha works. The Masha is equipped with a patented ROTOR-CONE technology that forces the object being mashed into the outer mesh of the Masha, which produces a perfect mash within seconds. The "Mashing Blade" as I have nicknamed it, is a smooth plastic that helps remove lumps from your food, and is a breeze to clean as well!

The Masha is easy to hold with a comfortable rubberized grip that you hold while you are mashing your food. At the top of the grip there is a button that you press and hold while you're mashing up the food The Masha only mashes at one speed which I personally think is great because it insures  that you will not use a speed that is to high and get food all over your kitchen (which is something that I would most likely do!).

For my first time using the Masha I decided to test it out with a sweet potato. I baked it as I normally would and then transferred it from it's tin foil into my pyrex bowl. I then plugged in the Masha, sat the mashing blade on top of the sweet potato, and pressed the button! I found that you do need to press the Masha lightly onto the food item you are mashing, and once you do the Masha does the rest! In less than twenty seconds my entire sweet potato was mashed to the perfect consistency and ready to be devoured. 

When it was time to clean the Masha I simply squeezed in on the release buttons and pulled out the bottom section of the Masha. Using my scrubby brush I was able to get all of the sweet potato out of the meshing easily and get the blade clean with no hassle. I let it air dry on the counter until I was ready to put it away. The bottom portion of the Masha is also dishwasher safe, so if you would prefer to stick it in the dishwasher that is an option as well. 

Overall I really love the Masha and I know I will be using it every time we eat something that will require mashing! It's going to be an absolute treat during the holidays when the last thing I want to do is deal with mashed potatoes and it will be so helpful when baby #2 comes around one day and I'm making puree's again!

High chairs are essential for your child to have a safe and comfortable place to eat, but what if your house simply does not have the space for a large high chair? The Chicco Caddy Hook-On High Chair is a portable hook-on table chair that can be used at home or on the go! I have had my eye on these hook-on high chairs for a very long time due to our "strange table situation" as I like to call it. 

When Mr. Hunky and I first moved in together we were in need of a kitchen table. My dad was about to purchase a new one so he gave us the one that he currently had. We love our kitchen table, but there is just one problem with it... we don't have chairs!! On one side of the table is a bench and on the other side of the table was Baby A's high chair. As Baby A grew older he absolutely hated using the tray on his high chair because he wanted to eat at the table like a big boy. I was able to put his high chair right up to the table so he could eat of of it, but the problem was is that he was still far enough away where he had to reach to get his food. I so desperately wanted to get one of these hook on high chairs for Baby A, and when Chicco and I decided to team up, I was ecstatic!

As you can see from the photo above, the Caddy Hook-On High Chair comes in a few pieces that you will need to put together, but let me tell you, the set up was super simple and took me less than 5 minutes. To set it up you simply attach the arms to the seat (you will hear and see it click together), then snap the cover around the arm so that it is secure.

Next, slide the chair's arms onto the table until you cannot push the chair forward any more. You will then push up on the arm pin and turn the red knob counter clockwise until the pin is tight against the table. You will know the chair is installed correctly if you cannot move the chair at all when you push on it.

The Chicco Caddy Hook-On High Chair features a 3 point harness to securely fasten your child into the chair with. One thing that I really love about this chair is that it is a pretty deep chair, meaning Baby A can sit all the way back and be nice and comfortable, he isn't squished into the chair with no room to move. The Caddy Hook-On High Chair can accommodate children from 6 months (so long as they can sit up on their own) and up to 33 pounds. Baby A is about 28 pounds and fits perfectly in the chair!

I have fallen in love with the Chicco Caddy Hook-On High Chair and would recommend it to all of my friends (and of course you lovely readers!). It feels very secure on my kitchen table and I love that I can take it off, fold it up, and bring it with us on the go! I'm the type of person, when I need to listen to school lectures or want to listen to music, my ears need to be comfortable. I can't tell you how many times while listening to a 50 minute school lecture, I have to take out my ear buds and rub my ears because they hurt so much! When I first opened up the package with my headphones in them, I was so happy to see that came in a bag. I think this is great because since they are of nice quality, I want to keep them nice. Also, with them being in the bag travel case, I will be able to keep them away from my kids and not lose them!

Like most headphones, the sides adjust for smaller/bigger heads. When sliding them up, you see a metal, so you know they are of good quality. Look how nice and sharp they look!

I really appreciate that the chord can be taken off, that way if I'm wearing the headphones around my neck and end up doing something, I don't have to get the chord all tangled. Also, on the chord there is a universal push talk mic, that also has track control! How cool is that?! If I don't like a song that comes on, I can easily skip it with a click of a button on the chord, instead of taking out my device and skipping on there.

Overall, I love these headphones! They are so comfortable to wear and have amazing sound!! I could wear them all day if I wanted to! Also, my husband loves them, and he is really weird about anything near his ears since he has an ear tube in one ear. He used to wear ear buds when listening to music or watching videos on his laptop, but only have a bud in the one good ear. Now with my JLAB Supra Headphones, he can wear them normally and comfortably!

These headphones are great to use on any phone and tablet that fits a 3.5mm jack. They are sharp looking, very comfortable and have awesome sound!

Alex is Getting Married!

As you may have heard from MCO's Facebook Page, Mr. Hunky and I FINALLY chose a wedding date!!! On April 5, 2014 I will become Mrs. Hunky! (hahaha) Seriously though I cannot wait to have my special day, walk down the aisle, and say I do to the man I fell in love with three years ago. It almost seems surreal but I couldn't be more excited.

I'd love for you to follow me on Pinterest if you aren't already, but at the very least you should follow my Pinterest board that is dedicated to ideas for my wedding! I also have boards with bridal shower ideas and bachelorette party ideas so you may want to check those out too! Just sayin.

SO you may be wondering....what have I planned so far? Surprisingly, a lot! Below is the list of things that I have done so far.


-Booked Venue
-Booked Photographer
-Booked DJ
-Booked Baker for cake and dessert bar
-1/2 done with booking the Caterer, just waiting on price quotes but the caterer is who we will for sure be working with
-Dress purchased and hanging in my momma's closet
-Veil also hangs with the dress
-Engagement Photos are scheduled

We still have a LOT to do but I feel great knowing that majority of the big stuff is taken care of. Now, I must tell you that my family knows a lot of people so I've had it easier (and cheaper) than most brides do and I feel so blessed for that! The photographer is my aunt's sister, the DJ is a friend of my uncle, the baker is my moms best friend and she also works with the caterer that we'll be using, the dress & veil was purchased a year ago, and my mom is a photographer so she will be doing our engagement photos. Like I said, I consider myself to be a pretty lucky bride.

I have an extremely clear vision on how I want my wedding to look and I can't wait to see if it turns out how I'm picturing. I plan to document and share with you my entire experience as a bride, including bachelorette party pictures, bridal shower pictures, and of course wedding pictures! We're not sure if we're taking a Honeymoon yet but if we do of course I'll be sharing that as well!

I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams and I hope that you'll follow this exciting journey in my life!
