MCO's Holiday Gift Guide: Nicole & Gabi

*I received complimentary Growing Organic Pots for review in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions*

Nicole Lockard and her mother Gabi always dreamed of opening up a shop someday.  Nicole graduated college with a degree in teaching and began working with young children and when she wasn’t teaching she could always be found with a paintbrush in her hand.  Having children of her own and working with children inspired her and fueled her creativity, allowing her to make their dream a reality with Nicole & Gabi.

Nicole has been painting for over 20 years and is proud to offer her costumers a unique line of hand painted, personalized products, where the timeless process of hand painting comes to life with a modern day twist.  Each piece is hand painted and brought to life by the artist, and no two pieces are identical.  Unfortunately Gabi is no longer with us but she lives on with the creativity within their store.  Nicole and Gabi offer you the tools and the creative inspiration needed to encourage children to use their imaginations and think like artists, scientists, inventors, explorers and writers.
I am always looking for little things to do with my kids to teach them new things in a fun way, so when Nicole contacted us to participate in our Holiday Gift Guide I was thrilled to find that they have some great, fun ways to help children learn and create.  I received Growing Organic Princess Pots and Outer Space Pots for Little Miss and Baby C.

Each set of Growing Organic Pots includes 3 pots and a large packet of organic vegetable seeds, we received butternut squash seeds with the Outer Space Pots and red core chantenay carrot seeds with the Princess Pots.  Each pot has a hand painted design sure to pique the interest of any child, and they are the perfect size for small hands.  The pots are a great way to talk to your kids about why growing organic is important and the positive impact these choices will have on our environment.  I picked up some organic soil and we couldn't wait to get our seeds planted!

My kids had so much fun planting the organic vegetable seeds.  Baby C is still a little young to grasp the concept of planting organic, but he had a blast putting the soil in the pots.  Little Miss understands quite a bit about eating healthy and making good food choices so she really enjoyed learning about how organic is a healthier option than non-organic.  Little Miss has been great about remembering to water them, she makes sure to check on them daily hoping and waiting to see the results of all her hard work.  This is teaching her a little lesson about patience as well.

Nicole and Gabi have a variety of items to learn and create with your child including bird houses, bird feeders, critter catchers, and wind chimes.  They also have room décor, cool containers and custom creations that are all hand painted.  This would make a wonderful gift to for the little inventor, artist, scientist, or explorer on your holiday list this year.  I would recommend Nicole and Gabi, their products are a fun way to teach and learn with your child, and they are simply adorable.

Congrats to Joanna Roberts!

  1. What a clever and adorable selection of gifts for children. I really like the different motifs and the fact that they can be personalized with the child's name. The book boxes, treasure chest, and artist's "paint can" are great for kids, being able to have their names on their boxes of trinkets and supplies. It's great that everyone can have their own little growing pots, in different colors, with their names on it, so there are no arguments over who's is whose. Great stuff!
