I don't know about you, but when it comes to the holidays, I love to put Baby A in adorable outfits that coordinate with the theme. Since we have moved to another state, we won't be celebrating the holidays as we normally do. Usually we have a huge family gathering full of tons of great foods and lots of family (of course), so last year during Baby A's first holiday season, corduroy and sweater vests were a must! This year since it'll just be us, I wanted something simple and warm for him, something that would just go along with the theme of the holiday we were celebrating. I started my search and ended up "window shopping" at Belles and Bugs. I fell in love with a snowman onesie but I couldn't find anything for Thanksgiving! After sending her a message she told me that she could make just what I had in mind for Baby A for Thanksgiving. I couldn't wait to get Baby A's holiday outfits!

Mary, the owner of Belles and Bugs, had a love for beautiful clothing for her daughter, but not a love for their price tag. When her baby girl turned one, Mary treated herself to a sewing machine and taught herself how to sew. Soon, strangers were asking her where they could buy the adorable dresses her daughter was wearing. Next thing she new, Belles and Bugs was born. After two years of being open, Mary still abides by the same three principles she did as when she started- Quality, Affordable, and Machine Washable.

When Baby A's onesies arrived in the mail I was beyond excited. I couldn't wait to see how the snowman looked in person, and I was even more excited to check out my mystery Thanksgiving onesie! Okay, so it wasn't really a mystery, I asked for something specific and she was able to do it! I was so impressed with how great these onesies turned out, not only were they ridiculously adorable but they were great quality as well! The onesie itself was a Carter's brand onesie so I knew that the quality would be long lasting.

For Thanksgiving I requested a simple and cute turkey and that was exactly what I got! The colors are vibrant, each piece of the turkey is sewed along the edges which gives it a great look! The edges have been treated with fray check so when washed the edges won't fray apart. There are no special washing or drying instructions with these which I absolutely LOVE because there is no way I would separate it out. I'm horrible with that, if it can't be thrown into the wash normally, I wont buy it. When I washed the onesie, I washed it in warm water, with every single color in Baby A's laundry. Like I said, I don't do special loads of laundry! I also dried it on high and when I pulled it out of the dryer, it was perfectly fine! No shrinking (that I noticed), no frays, no stitches pulling. It was just as perfect coming out as it was when it went in! This turkey onesie is everything I hoped it would be! My only suggestion for Belles & Bugs for this particular onesie is that eyes would be a cute addition! Other than that, it's perfect! Even without eyes, I still cannot wait for Thanksgiving to put Baby A in this!

For Christmas, Baby A will be sporting an adorable snowman onesie that could make even Frosty jealous with it's perfect polka dot carrot nose. I choose a snowman because I wanted to stray away from the traditional Christmas argyle or Santa Claus outfits. I wanted something that would be a little more winter appropriate and he could wear during December and January as well. I thought that a snowman would be perfect since a snowman doesn't just represent Christmas, it represents the winter season.

 "He was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day. There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found, for when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around, OH Frosty the Snowman...."

Baby A's snowman onesie was also washed in the same load as the turkey onesie and had no problems with shrinking or fraying. I am so excited for him to wear this! Now I just need to figure out what he is going to wear with it!

I have recently learned that there are an incredible amount of ways to "go green" and save yourself some money, just by changing the way you handle things around your house. I've scoured the Internet and have found many recipes on various soaps and cleaning products and out of everything that I've came across, my favorite would have to be wool dryer balls. The Graceful Mom hand makes wool dryer balls  which are the eco friendly alternative to a store bought dryer sheet. The more research I did on dryer balls the more I was sold. Did you know that dryer sheets are loaded with chemicals and really have no benefit other than the extremely light scent they leave on your clothes and the minimal static they reduce. With wool dryer balls, you're not only saving yourself money but you're avoiding putting extra chemicals around your clothing, you're reducing static, and you're cutting down time in the dryer. Are you sold yet?

Bethany, the owner of The Graceful Mom is a mother of two who works full time along with owning her Etsy shop. Bethany has a passion for making things for her kids and finding ways to balance work, family, and having other interests on the side. She started The Graceful Mom after making the switch to cloth diapers when her daughter was four months old. She started with wool dryer balls because of the simple fact that you can't use fabric softener or dryer sheets with cloth diapers. She started selling her dryer balls to her local growers group and they were an instant hit. When her family moved, she began focusing her energy into selling her dryer balls in her shop along with other items hand knit and crocheted from natural fibers. All of The Graceful Mom's dryer balls are made from 100% wool and most are naturally colored from local wool. Here is some extremely useful information directly from The Graceful Mom:

"Sweet Gumballs Wool Dryer Balls are made with 100% wool to the core. They are an excellent alternative to dryer sheets, fabric softener, and plastic PVC balls. They are 2.5-3 oz in weight. The most effective dryer balls are measured by weight, not circumference, so each dryer ball varies slightly in size. They are felted 4 times by an exceptional process to ensure that they are well-felted and will not unravel.

Wool absorbs up to 30% of its weight in water so these dryer balls soften clothes, reduce drying time, save money, reduce static, reduce wrinkles, and are reusable for years. They also work by lifting and separating, which allows air to flow better. GREAT for cloth diapers, especially AIOs.

Using 4 dryer balls on a 90 minute cycle will cut a small load of laundry approximately in 1/2 and a large load by 1/4! The more you use the better they work. They can be used on cloth diapers and all other laundry. Pilling may occur. They can be shaved if bothersome but it does not affect the performance of the dryer ball. If anything it may help them work better by providing more surface area and friction. They may also shrink slightly in size as the wool continues to felt.

Instructions for use: Toss them in the dryer and go. There is no need to remove them in between loads and no need to wash. If they do get dirty (thanks to little hands playing with them or dogs gumming them) wash with normal laundry. We recommend starting with 4 dryer balls and adding more later. The more you add, the shorter your drying time.

Note: Static will not go away completely, especially during winter months. To further reduce static, add vinegar during your rinse cycle in your washing machine. Be careful not to over dry clothes.

When my two dryer balls arrived in the mail I was giddy and jumping with excitement. Any way to cut down the costs of living, I am willing to try! As soon as I ripped open the package, I threw them in the dryer and went to grab a load of wash! The two dryer balls that I received are a little bit bigger than a tennis ball and are undyed and unscented. After doing a few loads of drying with them, I was super impressed to see that they had not lost their shape, size, nor had they come unraveled at all!

I expected the dryer balls to be noisy but in fact I hardly heard them while the dryer was going! We have a really old dryer at our house (we rent and it came with the house) so needless to say it is not a HE dryer by any means. I typical large load of laundry takes over an hour to dry, diapers take about that as well, and a small load takes about 40 minutes. I was so excited that with the help of my new dryer balls, a large load of laundry only took about 45 minutes to dry, diapers took about 40 minutes to dry, and a small load only took 30 minutes! In my book, that is record breaking time! Our clothes (and diapers) had no static that I could tell and it felt so great pulling my clothes out knowing that there were no added chemicals in them!

It is recommended that you have between 4-6 dryer balls per load to even further reduce the dry time and help further to eliminate static. My larger load of laundry and Baby A's cloth diapers could have dried faster if we had additional dryer balls.

A typical dryer ball can last for many years assuming that little hands or pets do not get to it and destroy it first! I have even read that some dryer balls can last up to eight years. Yes, you read that correctly, EIGHT years! That's eight years of never spending money on dryer sheets AND cutting down your energy bill by reducing the amount of dry time. Why the heck would you not make the switch to dryer balls?

I highly recommend that you throw out your dryer sheets (or use them up to be economical) and invest in a set of dryer balls for yourself. You will be so impressed with their quality and the noticeable difference you will see in your laundry and in your household bills! Featured Seller/Product Review: Baby Beanzy

Around this time of year is when I really get into the cozy mode and pull out my favorite blankets. For Baby A it is no different, I pull out the blankets that I think are the coziest for him. Minky blankets tend to be the ones I gravitate to for coziness and warmth for Baby A when he snoozes. We have a couple of Minky's that my mom and I attempted to make while I was pregnant but since our sewing skills are, well, horrible, they didn't turn out as amazing as I hoped they would have. When Baby Beanzy agreed to team up, I was over the moon!

Shelly, the owner of Baby Beanzy, lives in Sacramento, California with her husband and two little princesses. At the age of 6, Shelly was lucky enough to have both of her grandmothers teach her the ins and outs of sewing and encouraged her to pursue her creative outlet. She started creating baby blankets when her girls were young with the idea of creating a blanket that would grow with their child from infant to toddler in designs that would always been fun and beautiful. Baby Beanzy carries baby blankets and quilts, burp cloths, bibs, car seat harness covers, and much more!


I was lucky enough to be sent an absolutely gorgeous baby blanket for Baby A, and I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was when I recieved it in the mail! I had asked Shelly to surprise me with something "boy appropriate" and she informed me that she had the perfect idea in mind! When I got a sneak peek of our new blankie on Baby Beanzy's Facebook page, I was so excited to see it in person! The colors were vibrant and so much fun! Perfect for Baby A. The quality of the blanket is wonderful, even the down to the stitches! I was impressed, although I shouldn't be considering my sewing skills are horrible! My only suggestion for Baby Beanzy is that the binding is sewn a little closer to the edge, there is a small "flap" that overhangs and Baby A likes to play with it! (Please see picture for closer details) My biggest suggestion is for Baby Beanzy to make adult sizes!! Please?

If you can see, between the edge and the stitches there is a small gap, Baby A finds this gap amusing. Otherwise the stitching looks perfect! Maybe Baby Beanzy can give me some sewing lessons?

When I took Baby A's blanket out of the mailer I was so excited to see that the fabric was not only Minky, but Flannel as well! Even though we live in Arizona, I am quickly learning that the nights do cool off and like me, Baby A sleeps on the cooler side so seeing how cozy this blanket was made me so excited! Lets talk about its colors. The shade of the Minky is a vibrant "deep turquoise" which I absolutely ADORE. I love that the turquoise is paired with an orange silk binding, it ties in with the orange of the cars and the orange and turquoise together is to die for.

 As you can see from the above photos, the blanket is pretty big! It's big enough where you can swaddle your baby, use it as a blanket in the car seat or stroller, or just for cozy cuddles in the rocking chair with momma. It measures approximately 30in X 32in give or take a little!

Overall: Baby A and I love the Minky & Flannel blanket made by Baby Beanzy! It is soft, warm, cuddly, and so cute! The blanket is the perfect size that he can grow with it as he changes into a toddler and it will be perfect to pass down when Baby #2 joins us one day! (NO, I am NOT pregnant!). As I mentioned previously, the only thing that I noted about this blanket was that little overhang that Baby A keeps messing with but it is not something that would detour me from purchasing another blanket from Baby Beanzy. I highly recommend these blankets- they would make the perfect baby shower gift or wonderful for a holiday gift.

When you think of baby essentials, what usually pops in your head? Diapers, wipes, crib, clothes, blankets, pacifiers, and burp cloths? I'm sure that the list could go on and on, but when Baby A was a newborn and small infant, it was so necessary for me to have burp cloths. Everywhere. Lets face it, a common act of tiny babies is spitting up. So much fun right? So many parents just grab a rag, a blanket, or an item of clothing to clean up their child's spit up- I'm not saying anything bad about those who use that method, but for those parents in particular, this is for you. I feel a special connection with Jack and Jill Quilt Shop because the owner Nicole lives in my home town! When I was referred to Nicole's shop by an MCO reader, I got giddy with excitement to see that I held a close connection and I knew that I had to feature Nicole on my blog. After shopping in Jack and Jill Quilt Shop, the light bulb went off over my head and I realized that I had received a bunch of Nicole's burp cloths for my baby shower. I couldn't believe it. Already knowing the fantastic quality of of the product, I was even more excited to have the potential possibility of working with Nicole to bring you guys something very special!

Jack and Jill Quilt Shop opened in May 2011 when Nicole became a stay at home mom to her daughter. She realized she then had the time to pursue her love of sewing, a trait that she had inherited from her aunt. She started creating her burp cloths by using Gerber cloth diapers, but quickly realized that they weren't as absorbent as she would have liked for using the burp cloths. After doing research, she found a high quality diaper service cloth diaper to use, knowing that it would increase the cost of her products, but also knowing that it would give her customers a higher quality item that would last. Nicole's baby is now 2, so she doesn't need the burp cloth aspect of her product, so she uses them on a daily basis for a quick changing pad or for cleaning up messes.

Although I already was lucky enough to test out Nicole's burp cloths, Nicole was sweet enough to send me a brand new three pack of a print that has not yet been released in her shop! When I opened up my package in the mail I was in awe of how beautiful Nicole's presentation of her product was. The three burp cloths were perfectly folded and tied with a white satin ribbon and they're ready to be given as a gift or kept for yourself! The first photo that I wanted to show was of how gorgeous the presentation of the burp cloths, so I tucked them neatly in Baby A's closet until I was ready for them. Low and behold, one afternoon Baby A slid his closet door open and decided to play with the burp cloths! Unfortunately I wasn't able to recreate how it looked so I proceeded to give up and move on with my day! I apologize for that! Nicole sent me three adorable burp cloths that are perfect for a baby boy or even a baby girl as well!

 I was so excited to see the burp cloths in person to compare and contrast the old burp cloths that I received for my baby shower and the new burp cloths that I had just been sent. From what I could tell (since my old ones are very well loved), the craftsmanship and quality are absolutely wonderful on both new and old. They are extremely absorbent which is perfect for spit up or toddler messes and the quality in general is amazing. I looked over my old burp cloths and from what I could see, there was not a single rip or tear! I did notice that the new ones are slightly bigger than the old, so my speculation is that Nicole switched to a new burp cloth since I received mine! I was overly happy with the old, so I know that the new are going to be perfect!

The burp cloths are large enough so that they cover a large amount of your shoulder to help avoid spit up, but they're still small enough where if you end up wearing your burp cloth in public, it won't draw to much attention to the fact that you are wearing a spit up protector (although with these patterns, I'd recommend planning your outfit around your burp cloth!).

I love the burp cloths by Jack and Jill Quilt Shop and after testing out many different types, I genuinely feel like these burp cloths are perfect for moms with children of all ages- the quality of them cannot be beat, the price for the quality is absolutely amazing, and the fabrics/patterns are adorable. When your favorite tee shirt gets tired and worn out, what do you do with it? Do you throw it away? Donate it? Use it as a rag? Create something out of it? For a lot of people, the answer is simple. Get rid of it. Whether it be by throwing it away or donating it, as long as it is out of their sight, it won't phase them anymore. Have you ever heard the expression "One mans trash is another mans treasure"? Well this expression rings true to many people in this day and age. Donating, Recreating, and Upcycling is something that should be done more regularly to create less waste and more beauty on this planet. For Lime Green Lemon, this is exactly what is done to create the beautiful items in the shop.

Leigh Ann is a stay at home mom to a very energetic two year old. After working your typical 8-5 job, becoming a full time stay at home mom was something of a shock to Leigh Ann. She felt as though she wanted to do something that she could call her own, and since having her own business had always been a dream of hers, she took those the first steps and created her Etsy Shop. Lime Green Lemon sent me a set of three Thick Braided Cuffs in the color of my choice to review for you guys today. I chose pink, green, and yellow because I felt like those colors were very versatile and could be worn year round! I was very excited to open my package from Lime Green Lemon and was pleased to see that if I had ordered these as a gift for someone, that they would come packaged up and ready to be given as a gift.

When I took the cuffs out of the package I was excited to see how adorable they were! Images flashed of me wearing these cuffs with bracelets I already owned and different outfit opportunities popped in and out of my head as I tried my new cuffs on. Although made out of what I assume to be a tee shirt, these cuffs are quite thick which gives them dimension while on your wrist. I didn't want to pull on these to hard knowing that they were made from a material that could potentially stretch, so I gently tugged on the area where the cuff had been tied off to make sure that it held a strong hold. I didn't have any issues with the cuffs, they stayed secure and didn't threaten to come apart.

Since the cuffs are sold as a three pack, I decided to try them on individually, wearing two, and wearing all three, and I do have to say that in my honest opinion it was most comfortable to wear them individually. I did enjoy the look of them while I was wearing two together, but I felt as though wearing all three together was to much because of the thickness of them. I have small wrists though so to me it just felt a little bulky. I absolutely LOVED these cuffs individually, they are extremely soft, they're comfortable and they're adorable- need I say more?

Overall I feel like these would make an amazing gift whether it be for yourself or for someone else! The quality is absolutely wonderful and the colors are gorgeous and vibrant. These cuffs would also be perfect for a child to wear since they are comfortable and do not offer any sort of pieces that could fall off and potentially be harmful. I have worn all three of these (wearing them individually) with a neutral tee shirt and jean shorts and I felt like they gave the perfect amount of spunk and color to my outfit! There's nothing I love more than bracelets to accessorize my wardrobe. I've found myself phasing out of the "arm party" thing pretty quickly and phasing back into the look of simplicity. Don't get me wrong- I love love love the look of a big fatty bracelet around my wrist, but I also am really diggin' simple and cute. One evening while scouring Etsy (as usual), I came upon Sweetheart Jewelry Box and a smile instantly formed on my face. Everything was to die for and I hoped so badly that they would want to team up with me so that I could show you just how amazing this shop is! So without further adieu- Sweetheart Jewelry Box....

Amanda, the owner and designer of this amazing shop is a recent university graduate (congrats girl!) who has always had a love and passion for making jewelry, but had to make the sacrifice of "putting it on the back burner" while she focused on her education. She has recently found her love again and is now making jewelry at full force. The pieces that she makes are simple, dainty, and pretty and she loves that it is not only a creative outlet for herself, but a way to help raise money for Breast Cancer.

Amanda was generous enough to send over two gorgeous pieces for me to reviews for all of you. The first I will be reviewing is a beautiful aqua/mint and gold bracelet. I love this bracelet not only because it's my favorite colors right now but because it's so versatile! I paired this with denim shorts and a white V neck tee shirt with my hair in a side braid and let me just tell you- it added such a beautiful amount of pizazz to my outfit. Although it was simple, I felt like a million bucks. Honestly, while wearing this bracelet, I feel so delicate and girly- it's light weight and comfortable and when the light catches the beads it is SO breathtakingly beautiful (hey, I love sparkle). This bracelet should be worn and shown off daily in my opinion! It's that amazing!

The second bracelet is a gorgeous gold chain with a small purple square stone. I LOVE this bracelet. It adds so much elegance to whatever outfit I have on! While wearing this bracelet in the grocery store, I had a woman approach me at the deli counter telling me I was a lucky woman to have someone special buy me such beautiful jewelry! I giggled to myself and told her that it was from an amazing store called Sweetheart Jewelry Box on Etsy! What's great about this bracelet is that it can be worn casually or with something dressy and still look fantastic. The purple stone reminds me of the Queen (don't ask why, for some reason in my mind I associate purple with royalty, I think thats pretty common actually?), and I love that I feel like it is something that a queen would wear! Us women are after all the queen's of the household right? I think you deserve one of these beauties too!

When I took a look at these bracelets in person, I will admit that I was a little nervous. They were very dainty and with an 11 month old- dainty can be dangerous. Nevertheless I tried them on and fell in love. It wasn't long before they caught someone else's eye and little fingers were all over them!
