It's not hard to notice that I am a die hard fan of Petunia Pickle Bottom. I absolutely love, love, love their diaper bags and honestly have a hard time carrying anything else. I even use their diaper bags as purses when I am not with Baby A, and I know many other mama's who do the same. Luckily, Petunia Pickle Bottom recently introduced their new handbag line Petunia, giving moms the opportunity to continue to let their Petunia love shine, even when they have no need for a diaper bag!

Petunia Handbags debuted with a wide selection of handbags and accessories to choose from. From large handbags to cell phone cases, ladies everywhere now have a gorgeous selection of Petunia Handbags to choose from that are sure to meet their own individual styles. I was lucky enough to win one of the new Petunia Handbags, the Bauhaus Bowler in "Java", and I was in such shock over the fact that I won! I hardly ever win giveaways, so to win a new handbag from my favorite diaper bag company was like hitting the jackpot. I know a lot of you lovely readers are also Petunia Pickle Bottom lovers so I wanted to bring you a review of one of their new handbags so that if you were considering the purchase, you could have an inside look at what this beautiful bag is all about.
Without further adieu, I bring you, the Bauhaus Bowler.
The Bauhaus Bowler is a uniquely designed handbag with a glazed cotton canvas, vegan leather trim and a cotton/poly blend lining. This bag has a height of 10 inches, length of 11 inches, and a width of 5 inches. Don't let its' measurements fool you, I was pleasantly surprised on how much this little beauty can hold; I was able to fit all of the contents of my diaper bag inside, minus a sippy cup and changing pad! What I love about the Bauhaus Bowler is that the bag zips closed to insure that all of your belongings are safe and nothing will fall out while you're on the go.
Petunia Handbags (as well as Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bags) always go above and beyond while designing their bags. A unique and signature feature that Petunia loves to include is a embroidered section of the bag's print, which adds to the overall look and beauty of the bag.
The straps on the Bauhaus Bowler are absolutely wonderful; made from a comfortable thick fabric strap and a leather shoulder section, while the mid section of the strap features brushed nickel hardware and leather trim. The straps have a 9 inch drop making the bag lie comfortably beneath your arm.
A unique feature on the Bauhaus Bowler is the front flap pocket with a gorgeous Petunia flip-lock closure. The front flap pocket is large enough to hold essentials that need to stay hidden but be easily accessible such as keys, your cell phone, perhaps even your tampons!
What I absolutely adore about this bag is the leather trimmings. There's just something about the soft smooth texture of new leather that makes a women's heart flutter and the leather trimmings on the Bauhaus Bowler are no exception! I also love that the zipper pull on this bag is leather as well!
Now lets talk about the inside of this bag. It may look small, but it can hold a lot. The inside of the bag features many different sized pockets to hold items such as your wallet or your cell phone. The main compartment is very spacious and can easily fit everything you need for a night on the town or even if you're just headed to the grocery store in style.
The first time that I had the opportunity to pack up my Bauhaus Bowler I was headed out to lunch with Mr. Hunky and Baby A. I really wanted to use the bag so I decided to test pack it with just my belongings first, then add Baby A's stuff to it. For my test pack I included my "Wet One's" wipes, my Chick Springs Clutch full of mommy items (chap sticks, tampons, hand sanitizer, lipstick, etc), and my wallet. I couldn't believe that even with my large clutch in the main compartment that I will had a TON of room!
When I packed up the Bauhaus Bowler and included all of Baby A's necessities, the bag was very full but I was able to pack everything I needed minus a sippy cup and a changing pad. In the photo below the bag is packed with my wallet, Chick Springs Clutch, Wet Ones wipes, a wipes case, two Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens bags, a wet bag, a Plum Organics pouch, a wipes case, my sunglasses, a pacifier, and my keys. I was honestly shocked that I was able to fit that much stuff inside and still close it! I told you the Bauhaus Bowler was spacious!!
So how does the Bauhaus Bowler compare to other bags?
Well, my favorite bag made by Petunia Pickle Bottom is their Cosmopolitan Carryall which is apart of their Cake by Petunia line, and I was truly surprised on how similar these bags were in terms of functionality. While the two bags are shaped differently, the both can hold about the same amount of items. In my opinion, the Cosmopolitan Carryall does hold more and has better organization, but with that being said, keep in mind that the Cosmopolitan Carryall is a diaper bag whereas the Bauhaus Bowler is a handbag!

Overall I really liked the Bauhaus Bowler and think that it is a bag that many women and mothers will fall in love with! Not only is it stylish and fun, and but it's also practical! If you're looking into getting one of Petunia's new handbags I suggest you try out the Bauhaus Bowler and fall in love with their new collection!
Exciting News! Petunia Pickle Bottom & I are teaming up in August for a GIVEAWAY of one of their diaper clutches! Make sure you're a fan of MCO on Facebook and stay tuned!

The best part of having this bag is that even when you're wearing the shoulder strap, it doesn't feel too heavy. It's big enough to carry all my stuff and small enough to still look like a purse and not a tote.
